Mervin & District Golf Club, Mervin

The picturesque Mervin and District Golf Course is set in a mature northern forest of tall birch, poplar and pine trees. It's rated by locals and tourists alike as one of the finest nine-hole courses in the northwest. Since opening in 1965, grass greens were constructed in 1988 entirely through the aid of volunteer labour and an inviting clubhouse was built in 1999. The automated watering system gives golfers lush playing conditions on the fairways.

Mervin measures 2,843 yards off the regular tees and 2,654 off the front, offering a playable, but challenging and rewarding track. Fairways are short to average in length and are bordered by not-so-forgiving forest. The greens are of average size and many are subtly contoured. Hole #6 is considered the most difficult hole with its sand-trap behind the green and out-of-bounds area on the right side, so make sure to go long off the tee.

After a challenging round at Mervin, you'll have to enjoy the hospitality and the veranda shade that surrounds the first-class clubhouse. The spacious clubhouse gives visitors a view of the course and the driving range. It includes club rentals and a pro-shop, and a licensed area. The club is also a popular destination for tournaments in the district with its BBQ facilities and outdoor patio. Nearby, the Mervin district offers excellent camping and fishing at Brightsand Regional Park.
